Ooooh. I’m intrigued. Seriously.

Cool :) You can always go over to their website to learn more about them, and their CDs/MP3s are available at both iTunes and CDBaby. They're about to play at Sunfest, which is a festival that takes place in downtown West Palm over the next five days, so I'll be putting up an article about them on my long-neglected Type M page (I tried to get Flipper to hold down the fort while I was otherwise engaged, but he chattered something about being busy himself :))

This sounds like a band that would do great at 9:30 or Jammin’ Java up here.

Are those DC or Maryland venues? I'll have to pass that on to the band, in case they're ever up for a road trip :)

BTW, thanks for being the first legitimate commenter on this otherwise-popular post. I had gotten a comment right when it went up, but after a while I figured out it was just an attempt to get people to look at some random blog (you know the type of comment I'm talking about)

[Hey GoDub, thanks for being the first to leave a comment on my re-activated blog. I'm scoring that as West Virginia 1, Ohio 0 :) ]

I’m even seeing here in DC shows canceling at the last minute because of lack of ticket sales.

I wonder what Paige is seeing in Virginia? One of my friends who works at the performing-arts center in West Palm Beach says most of their ticket sales lately have been last-minute. But we have an excellent local ballet company that cancelled the rest of its season and is going on furlough for the next few months. So many people are hunkering down waiting for the economic storm to pass...

But on a positive note, there is a new live-music club called Propaganda that just opened in Lake Worth, so I'll be doing a post on that place shortly...

You're right ... so sad. I'm even seeing here in DC shows canceling at the last minute because of lack of ticket sales. I'd hate to see smaller venues just disappear because they're having a hard time. Gah. Effin' economy.

GoDub,

There's no such thing as being late in the blogosphere, as far as I'm concerned -- or if it is, then I'm in trouble :)

I'm glad you could relate to my post, and that it evoked memories of your own. This post seemed to attract a number of views right away, which I suppose is a testament to how good my dad's taste in music was, but its instant publicity still felt like a tribute to my father...

BTW, I've heard "Stairway To Heaven" a couple of times this week. In the past, I might have changed the station, so I've heard this song a million times before, but now, for reasons already discussed in your blog, it makes me smile...

I'm sorry I'm so late to the game.

This was a beautiful post and I can relate to it so much. Most of my music associations with my childhood are with listening to the radio with my father in the car. He was such a fan of 1950s and 60s radio music. Pop. There was this crackly AM station out of Indiana we could get and he was always so happy when we'd pick it up.

Much love, TW. Thank you for this post.
